Do I have to pay for parking?

No. Parking is free on the rear side of the building.

Do I have to show my Health Card at every visit?

Yes. It is a strict government policy that Ontario residents provide a valid health card at every visit. Patients who do not present a valid health card will be subject to a $60 charge in order to see their physician.

When my Doctor is away is someone available to cover them?

Yes, the other doctors will work together in an effort to cover patients of the doctor that is away.

Can I get my lab or test results over the phone?

No, the receptionists do not have the proper competency to release medical information over the phone/fax/email. We will contact you with abnormal test results only. We encourage you to book a follow-up appointment if you would like to discuss your results

When should I refill my Prescriptions?

Plan Ahead! Book an appointment 2 weeks in advance with your physician when you are filling your last refill. Order your prescriptions at least 1 week before you need them. Don’t run out!

I have a problem now! How soon can the doctor see me?

Wyndham Medical offers same-day appointments. Please speak to our office staff about scheduling an after-hours appointment. You will need to call: 1-866-553-7205

I have not been feeling like myself lately and I think I may be depressed. Do the doctors treat depression and other psychological disorders? Yes, you need to book an appointment with your family doctor to discuss your problems. You’ll be assessed and treated accordingly.

What should I do if I miss my appointment?

We are asking you to call our office during regular office hours (8 AM – 4:30 PM) Monday through Friday and explain that you have missed your appointment and discuss rescheduling the appointment. Please keep in mind that this will appear as a No Show appointment unless notification occurs within 24 hours prior to your appointment and it might be subject to a No Show charge ($30 for regular appointments or $60 for physical appointments)

Can the doctors at Wyndham Medical treat my whole family?

Yes. The doctors at Wyndham Medical see newborns to geriatric patients.

What if I need to be referred to a specialist?

The family physicians at Wyndham Medical will make a referral to a specialist in the field you require if necessary.

Can I be seen by a doctor at WM if I do not have OHIP/insurance?

No, unfortunately, you have to be a registered patient of Wyndham Medical. However, you must be a valid OHIP card otherwise you’ll be subject to a small charge.

Can I use FHT services without being a rostered patient of one of your doctors?

No. The services of the Guelph Family Health Team are only available to patients rostered to our doctors; however, the Guelph Family Health Team is striving to accommodate all the patients.

Is Travel Advice covered by OHIP?

No, travel advice is not covered by OHIP, however, a fee will be charged for this service.

Accepted methods of payment are cash or cheque.

Do physicians have to provide their patients with access to care 24-hours a day, seven days a week?

The College recognizes that providing round-the-clock coverage for patient care can be problematic. However, physicians do have a social and ethical obligation to look after their patients on a 24-hour basis and should make the necessary arrangements to ensure that alternate medical care is available even if their office or clinic is closed.
